Since being awarded a MO Award for Best New Talent in 1997, David has become one of the most acclaimed Australia's leading men of his generation.
David received a Helpmann Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical as Fiyero in the National tour of WICKED after receiving critical acclaim for his portrayal of Chris in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Miss Saigon, for which he also received a Helpmann and Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for "the year's most truthful and moving stage portrayals" (Sydney Morning Herald).
Other highly regarded performances include; baseball hero Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees; John Brookes in Little Women; the dedicated union leader, Prez in Pajama Game; the student revolutionary, Perchik in Fiddler On The Roof alongside Topol; Malcolm in The Full Monty; John in Andrew Lippa's John & Jen; and Jimmy Smith in the Australian premiere of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
David originated the role of Bud in the Australian premiere production of the two-man comedy, Gutenberg! -The Musical; created the many male roles in the Australian premiere of Breast Wishes; and received a GLUG Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in LOVEBiTES.
David was privileged to again work directly with Andrew Lippa on The Wild Party playing Oscar, and with Richard Maltby Jnr and David Shire on their new musical Take Flight, playing Orville Wright at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Other credits include Rick in the Melbourne season of Debbie Does Dallas - The Musical and Gilliam in Camelot.
He understudied and performed the roles of Sky and Eddie in the original Australian production of Mamma Mia! after touring as original cast member of The Boy From Oz understudying and performing the roles of Chris Bell, Greg Connell and Brian Henderson. David returned to play Greg in The Production Company's 2010 season.
In concert, David toured with UK musical theatre star Michael Ball on his Australian World Of Musicals tour; performed with Stephen Schwartz in Stephen Schwartz and Friends; performed at the opening celebration of Hong Kong Disneyland; was special guest with the Perth Army Band; performed at the annual Premier's Christmas Concert; and in 2010 performed a series of concerts with Australian Leading Lady, Marina Prior and in Vietnam with international star, Lea Salonga. He was lead vocalist onboard P&O's Fair Princess and received a MO Award for Best New Talent (1997).
Following the release of his debut album David premiered his solo show, "Til The Night Is Gone" to sold out audiences at the 2010 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Newcastle's Civic Theatre.
David's television credits include Rescue Special Ops, Blue Heelers, Neighbours and numerous advertising campaigns for both Australia and the U.S. as well as live performances which include Mornings with Kerri-Anne and The Morning Show.
David was core actor for Freewheels Theatre Company in Newcastle performing Scott in Nick Enright's acclaimed Blackrock and in 2000, he made his film debut in Disney's South Pacific starring Glenn Close and Harry Connick Jnr.
David features on the cast recordings of LOVEBiTES, Showqueen Sessions 1, The Boy From Oz (Original Australian production) and released his debut solo album, 'Til The Night Is Gone in 2009.
David is currently starring as Fiyero in the Asian tour of WICKED and has just completed his second album, At This Stage.
